Deuteronomy 30:16 (CEV) says,“I am commanding you to be loyal to the Lord, to live the way he has told you, and to obey his laws and teachings. You are about to cross the Jordan River and take the land that he is giving you. If you obey him, you will live and become successful and powerful. On the other hand, you might choose to disobey the Lord and reject him. So I’m warning you that if you bow down and worship other gods, you won’t have long to live.”
Do you ever feel oppressed and strangled by the laws of God? Well, God’s commands bring the highest good. He cares for you. He has put commands in place to give you life, not to stifle it.
The anointing is the manifest presence of God and the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer (Acts 1:8). When we choose to operate in obedience to God and surrender to his will, we operate “under the anointing.” Through the Holy Spirit, God uses us to do the work of ministry. The anointing is not talent, gifts, or skill. You can be talented, gifted, and skilled and still not have the anointing. The anointing is not intelligence, eloquence or knowledge. For knowledge puffsup, but love builds up (1 Cor. 8:1) and the kingdom of God is not about talk, but power (1 Cor. 4:20).
When we operate “under the anointing,” the Holy Spirit uses us in our unique calling to do God’s will.
The anointing of God is not mystical. Everyone operates under a spiritual influence. We either operate in our flesh (under the control of the spirit of this world) (Eph. 2:2-3), or we operate “under the anointing,” (under the control of the Holy Spirit) (Rom. 8:5). The sure-fire way to test whether or not you are operating in the spirit is to just check your thought life.
Romans 8:5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

After a strong 2016, Lecrae is heading into 2017 with new music, and a focus as solid as ever.
The Reach Records emcee recently shared that in early 2017, fans should expect to hear a new album.
“It will be out early 2017 (first quarter). There’s no name yet. I’m still processing. It’s definitely thematic. There’s a reoccurring theme of struggle, embracing the struggle, finding grace in the middle of it, and hopefulness through all of it,” he said.
The difference between this one and Anomaly is that the latter focused on Lecrae as an “Outsider” telling people about himself. The new record “is me just fleshing it out. I’m not going to convince you of it, I’m going to be it.”
Lecrae then skirted around the features for the album, and said he’s been in the studio with “a lot of people.”
Some of the names he’s worked with in the last year include Tori Kelly, Tye Tribbett, and Killer Mike. However, he’d only confirm Kelly as a feature on the new record.
He shared that “Can’t Stop Me Now” was inspired by an entry in his journal where he just needed to express himself.
“The song articulates my pain, my struggle, my humanity, me being depressed over scrutiny, loss of life, being misunderstood in so many ways. It drove me to depression and to doubt faith as well, but the resolve is having to climb out of that hole and how faithful God was during that time,” said Lecrae.
He also admitted that he has a second book in him. Lecrae isn’t sure of the topic yet, but perhaps he would cover “daddy issues.”
